Says, All militant organizations headless, 44 security forces killed this year
Srinigar Dec 31 : Jammu and kashmir Director General of police on Thursday said that in over one hundred anti militancy operations were conducted this year in which 225 militants were killed which includes 46 top commanders of various outfits.
He said that almost every militant organization in Jammu and kashmir has been left headless and forces are after few commanders and they will be tracked soon.
Addressing an annual press conference, he said that among 225 militants, 207 we’re killed in Kashmir and 18 in Jammu division which includes 46 top commanders of A++ or A+ category.
This year witnessed increase in local militant recruitment, however, it is less as compared to 2018 and among those who joined militantcy this year have been either killed or arrested.
He said that this year 38 civilian were killed including political activitist and this was highest ever ceasefire violations this year.
This year over 36 militant modules were busted resulted in arrest of over 100 people associated with it, he said, adding that, there was zero casuality in the law and order incident in the year besides that there was zero collateral damage leaving aside Batamallo incident.
He said that over one dozen militants surrendered this year during live encounters.
Despite unawareness about covid pandemic, police took active part in serving people and fifteen policemen lost their lives.
This year 152 quintals of Heroine was seized in various raids this year and 35 persons were booked under PSA besides that 77 crore were spent on different welfare schemes. (PTK)
