Congress demands resignation of Anantnag MC Councilors

Srinagar March 7 : Reacting to the joining of JK APNI Party by various councilors of MC Anantnag, the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today said Hilal Ahmad Shah and other councilors have been elected on INC symbol and demanded their resignation on moral grounds.

JKPCC Spokesperson in statement to “KNS” has said Hilal Ahmad Shah MC President Anantnag along with some Councilors joined JK APNI Party without resigning from the position they are enjoying currently in MC Anantnag and said they have been elected on INC Symbol, should have send their resignation to Party (Congress) prior to their joining a few month’s old Party.

Shah and other councilors have adopted unethical way, they should resign alongwith other councilors to ensure sanctity of the institution (Municipal Committee Anantnag), PCC Spokesperson said.

The ambitions of the APNI party is known to every one in J&K, people are the best judge, will respond to its exploitation and betrayal at appropriate time, that is going to be terrible for it (APNI Party), PCC Spokesperson added.

It is extremely unfortunate that a few month’s old Party is trying hard to change the narratives by making traditional defectors and others political leaders and workers to join it, from time to time,  but in reality, it doesn’t have people’s support, who are the best judge and  have decided to respond to it’s (Apni Party) dubious role and exploitation, Party Spokesperson said.

Resorting to horse-trading and coercion is the hallmark of JK APNI Party, which is certainly not going to help it, neither in present nor in future, Spokesperson said.(KNS)
