SRINAGAR, SEP 21 : PDP chief and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti launched a veiled attack on the Center saying that leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru, Atal Bihari Vajpayee had a vision for Jammu and Kashmir but this government creates division between Hindus and Muslims.
“People of Delhi are using J&K as a laboratory and experimenting here. Leaders like Nehru, Vajpayee had vision for J&K but this government creates division between Hindus and Muslims. Sardar is now Khalistani, we are Pakistani, only BJP is Hindustani, Mehbooba Mufti said.
Speaking on the delimitation exercise, Mufti said, “…this exercise is being done randomly. They are only changing the names (naming schools after martyrs) but the children will not get employment by changing the names. They (Centre) Taliban talk about Afghanistan but not about farmers, unemployment…”
Under the excise policy, contracts for liquor business have been given to outsiders. People of J&K will consume liquor but profits will go to outsiders.
She claimed that all major projects, including mining contracts, have been allotted to outsiders. Mufti, who has been supporting the shutdown of Jammu traders on Wednesday against the opening of Reliance Retail stores in the city, said the shops will destroy small businesses.
“Whatever we have in the country, they (BJP government) are selling it to the corporate houses,” she said. Responding to a question about investments coming in J&K, he said: “Whatever investment we had got earlier has also been destroyed. They (industry) have closed their enterprise here and gone back.
