Pattan, Feb 6: The govt is yet to start reconstruction work of Govt. Boys Middle School building at Dargam Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla District.
The school was established in 1969 and it was declared unsafe by authorities in March 2019 as it had developed cracks due to earthquake in year 2005. As per locals the school is running in rented building.
The school falls under the jurisdiction of Nehalpora Zone and is not having washroom facility leaving students to suffer.
As per locals SDM Pattan has also visited the village after it was highlighted by News Agency on 24 March 2019. The SDM has assured then that he would take immediate and possible steps for the safety of students.
“This is the matter of students I will take immediate and possible steps and I will take up this issue with concerned ZEO” Told SDM Pattan to media on 24 March 2019 but unfortunately nothing has changed on ground.
After the visit of ZEO and SDM in 2019 the building was declared unsafe and the students were shifted to rented building where they are facing many problems like unavailability of washroom and water.
