Man arrested with Charas like substance and Rs 1.25 lakh in Daramkun Gool

Ramban, July 24: Police arrested one drug peddler in Subdivision Gool in Ramban district on Saturday, recovered 120 grams of Charas and cash of Rs 1.25 Lakh.

Acting on a specific input regarding drug peddling in the area, a Police party from Police Station (PS) Daramkund raided a shop at Harog Daramkund area of Subdivision Gool in Ramban district.

During the process of checking 05 Challies of Charas like substance weighing about 120 grams and cash of Rs 1.25 Lakh were recovered from the possession of the shopkeeper in presence of Executive Magistrate.

When inquired about the recovered cash the accused failed to give satisfactory justification.

The accused involved in the case has been identified Abdul Aziz @ Pardesi S/O Akbar Chopan R/O Harog Daramkund who has been arrested on the spot.

It is pertinent to mention here that during the preliminary questioning the accused has confessed that he was illegally selling the contraband and further backward and forward linkages are being worked out.

In this connection a Case FIR No 35/2021 U/S08/20 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station (PS) Daramkund and investigation set into motion.
