Ramban on 22 Sep. 2020:ICDS project Ramban celebrated “Rashtriya Poshan Maah” (National Nutrition Month) at Halla Dhandrath to emphasis the need for healthy nutrition.
The efforts aimed to bring the nutrition discussion to the grassroots level.
It also supported in empowering local communities to understand their locally available food resources and the importance of dietary diversity for them, especially their children.
Awareness was given by Supervisor ICDS Project Ramban Mrs Negina Begum on issues related to nutrition and good health among children and women, pamphlet of different Signs like Haat Bazar, Balanced Diet, Hand Wash, Charbohydrates, Vitimans, Protine, were also distributed among participants.
Mr Muddasar Rashid highlighted that due to lack of awareness both poor and affluent families are affected by it and the purpose of celebrating Poshan month is to take message of Nutrition, health and Hygiene to every corner.
Health and Nutrition Mobilizer Mrs Neena Sharma highligted the importance of Nutrients present in fruits and Vegetables and stressed pregnant women’s and children to eat healthy and balanced diet in order to overcome the problems of malnourished among children.
After that Hand wash Activity were also done by Health and Nutrition Mobilizer.
Programme was organized with Anganwadi workers, Helpers and Asha Workers, Punches of the Panchayat and local peoples in which all participant were informed about Poshan Maah and its various themes like , optimal breastfeeding (early and exclusive), Complementary feeding, anaemia, growth monitoring, girls education , hygiene and sanitation.
At the rally was organized with the slogan of “Sahi Poshan Desh Roshan”
